Promoting & Rewarding Good Behaviour and Effort
Rewards are a way that we support the positive reinforcement of behaviour. Public praise and private criticism are adopted within the school. We celebrate achievements as a community. Rewards have a motivational role in helping pupils to realise that good behaviour is valued
Rewards can be given for:
Adults seek to provide specific praise to pupils throughout each day. These are linked to the school rules, values and positive learning behaviours. These behaviours will be recognised through our rewards system:
Expectations of Student Conduct
Whilst it is important to reward positive behaviour, it is also important to manage unacceptable or disruptive behaviour in the same positive and consistent manner. Behaviour is a form of communication, and we will make all possible attempts to work with a pupil to understand what they are trying to communicate to others. We have a very clear behaviour grid to outline our procedures for various behaviours and the consequences that will be issued as a result.
