Children's Centre

Welcome to The Spelthorne Children's Centre located in Meadhurst Primary School, Ashford, Middlesex.

 Spelthorne Sure Start Children's Centre is a place in the heart of the community where all families feel welcomed, supported and empowered in the early years of their parenting journey. We are a central resource for families offering support, guidance and information. We offer many opportunities for you to meet others, make new friends and learn new skills at various groups, sessions and courses to benefit you, your children and your family in the future.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our FANTASTIC Centre!

Spelthorne Sure Start Children's Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

We have a Child Protection Policy and procedures in place.

Please note that we do not have any parking available on site, and we ask that you park appropriately in the many nearby roads. If for any medical reason you need to park on site please contact the centre on 01784 251976.

Monday - Thursday 9.00 am - 3.00 pm

Friday 9.00 am - 1.00 pm

Our Team

Sarah Holbourne - Centre Manager   

Hello, my name is Sarah and I am the Spelthorne Children's Centre Manager. I have a degree in Early Years and Education and I have Early Years Professional Status (EYPS). I thoroughly enjoy working with  children and their families and have over 16 years of experience of working with children from 0 to 16 years. I have lived in Ashford for over 40 years and I have one daughter and three cats. Outside of work, I enjoy watching movies and listening to music.

Pippa Gilson - Outreach worker.

I am the outreach worker here; I live locally to the area and have so all my life.

I have many years of experience in working with children and families mostly in the nursery and early years settings, more recently working with children as young as 3 months old, I have however worked with children up to the age of 11. I am qualified in NVQ3 child care, and health and social care.

Outside of work, I love walking my dog, live rugby and music.

Lauraine Pink - Admin and support adviser

I am the admin and support person at the Children's Centre and have worked here since October 2014. I have lived in Sunbury with my partner for over 7 years, and have 2 children aged 5 and 14.

Previously I was an Ofsted registered childminder for over 4 years and I have also been a dance teacher for over 20 years and am qualified with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. One of the highlights of my dance career was being chosen to dance in the opening of the Paralympics Ceremony in 2012.

I am currently working towards my NVQ level 3 within my role here at the centre and am looking forward to achieving that.

Amber Betts - Amber Therapies

I am a fully qualified baby massage & baby yoga teacher accredited by The Royal Collage of Midwives and the International Institute for Complementary Therapists .In addition an experienced & qualified ITEC Holistic Massage Therapist. My approach is treating the whole person. Treatments are tailored to your specific needs whether you are looking for complete relaxation, increased energy or relief from pain.

 Volunteers

Our volunteers provide an invaluable service to the team supporting our sessions.  The volunteers are made up of parents/carers who have accessed the centre.  Volunteering is a fun and exciting opportunity to help not only your local community but provides you with invaluable work experience.
